Who We Are
Redefining education by merging the essence of traditional learning with modern multimedia.
At GuruKool, we make complex scientific and medical concepts accessible to researchers, healthcare professionals, and the wider community.
GuruKool derives its name from the Sanskrit word Gurukul, meaning "house of education." In this traditional learning model, students lived alongside their guru, receiving knowledge in a close-knit, immersive environment. We carry that same spirit forward, closing the gap between subject-matter experts and the people who need their knowledge.
We are a small team of medical writers, scientists, quality control professionals, legal professionals, project managers, administrative staff, and multimedia specialists based in the Bay Area, California. We work directly with researchers, clinicians, and pharmaceutical/CRO teams to turn scientific and clinical material into clear, structured training content.

Each module is built around a specific assessment tool or topic and typically includes:
- Videos — audio-visual training, available in MP4 format.
- Quick reference slides — for point-of-care reference.
- Question & answer sections — to assess and document investigator/staff understanding and training completion.
Modules currently available cover assessment tools including MMT-8, TUG, STS, MDAAT, 28 Joint Count, DAS28, 1KG Arm Lift, PhGA, MDI, FI-3, HHD, CDM-IGA, CDA-IGA, CDASI, and introductions to Myositis Response Criteria and Core Set Measures, with around 20 modules currently available.
Case-Based Training
Real-world, case-based training covering Dermatomyositis (DM), Anti-Synthetase Syndrome (ASyS), Immune-Mediated Necrotizing Myopathy (IMNM/NM), and Polymyositis (PM). Each case includes:
- Initial and follow-up patient presentations (history, exam findings, rash images, muscle testing, lab results)
- Structured assessment using tools such as MDAAT, CDASI, MMT-8, and Physician Global Disease Activity
- Expert consensus scoring, so investigator responses can be compared against expert ratings
Module & Case Management
We offer flexible administration options depending on what a study needs:

- Self-administration — we provide the training material; the client uploads and manages it on their own trial platform
- GuruKool administration — we administer, monitor, and maintain training records and certification status across sites and investigators, with controlled user access and traceable training activities
Case Management
- Self-managed — client uploads Cases and manages cases on their own EDC/platform
- Online case portal (no expert feedback) — we securely host cases, manage user access, track case completion and investigator responses, and provide traceable activity records and weekly dashboards.
